First-class care: Day-care centres in Riedberg
In the new district of Riedberg there are currently seven day-care facilities for children of all ages. Additional day-care centres will be added as the residential area grows.
Welt-Raum Day-Care Centre
The Welt-Raum day-care centre is in the Bonifatiusbrunnen district. The day-care centre has 1,100 square metres of space and provides lots of room for group activities, playing and crawling around for over 100 children aged 1 to 12. The children are split into a toddler group, a kindergarden group, a mixed-age class and an after-school group.

Sonnenwind Day-Care Centre
The Sonnenwind day-care centre is in Riedberg primary school, in the Schöne Aussicht district. It offers child care for 100 children between the ages of three and twelve. The children learn and play in three kindergarden groups and four after-school groups. The concept of the day-care centre provides for close cooperation with the primary school. The after-school care provided by day-care facility supplements the primary school's full-day school concept.

Zauberberg Day-Care Centre
The Zauberberg day-care centre is operated on behalf of the university and is located on the southern edge of the university campus at Riedberg. Children of students and university employees are given preferential consideration and, to a certain extent, this also applies to children from the district. It offers child care for children from six months old until they are old enough to start school.

Mobile Day-Care Centre
The Mobile day-care centre is in the Altkönigblick district close to the Kätcheslachpark. It provides day-care facilities for approximately 100 children between the ages of one and six. The day-care facility is disabled friendly and also has a multi-purpose meeting room that can also be used for other activities in the district. The covered roof terrace, herb garden, and the diverse, sculptured, open spaces around the building provide enough room to romp and play in the fresh air. The building was constructed as an extremely energy-efficient passive house.

Day-care centre in the Ginsterhöhe district
This day-care centre that opened in 2010 is located in the Ginsterhöhe district and is run by Frankfurt-Riedberg's protestant parish. The day-care centre has room for up to 120 children and accepts children both over and under three. The building was built to passive house standards. It has two floors: the ground floor that was built as a solid structure and the upstairs that was built as a solid wood construction with larch cladding. A folding wall in the foyer is used to create a large multi-purpose room, as required. The outdoor areas provide lots of opportunities to play.

Gipfelflitzer Day-Care Centre
The Gipfelflitzer day-care centre is in the Mitte district, directly in the centre of Riedberg. This facility, which looks after children aged one to seven, has spacious, bright and airy rooms on two floors. 22 young children aged one and upwards currently attend the day-care centre.

After-School Club in Riedberg
Up to 40 children from six to twelve are looked after in the temporary building in the university district.

Further Day-Care Facilities
The construction of three additional day-care centres in the Mitte, Schöne Aussicht and Altkönigblick districts is planned to start in 2011.
