Riedberg's children have been learning to read and write and learning numeracy skills and lots of other skills in the new primary school since November 2004. This school can teach up to 400 children with four classes in each school year. It fits into the new district of Frankfurt-Riedberg: It is future-oriented, functional, environmental, an architectural role model and offers a most advanced educational concept. A sports hall and a day-care facility are integrated in the school building. The rooms are designed according to modern pedagogical best practices. The school is light and friendly. The so-called 'differentiation rooms' are located between the classrooms. This allows the children to work in small groups. A kitchen is also provided which allows the school to offer full-day schooling. A 'pedagogically supervised lunch care' is provided. The Sonnenwind Day-Care after-school clubs  are also based in the same complex. Riedberg primary school is the first school in Frankfurt to be built to passive house standards and the second of its type in Germany. The energy-saving and environmentally friendly methods used for passive houses allow a saving of up to 90 percent of energy costs.

A second Riedberg primary school is in planning for the Niederurseler Hang district. The design provided by MGF Architekten GmbH (Stuttgart) together with Stötzer + Neher Landschaftsarchitekten (Sindelfingen) won first prize as part of an architecture competition. The project includes a school with four classes in each school year, a two-court gymnasium, a swimming pool and an additional day-care centre. The way that the open spaces were designed was also praised. The future primary school will be built to passive house standards and is planned to provide classrooms and recreation rooms for approximately 420 students based on the most modern pedagogic concepts. Construction is planned to start in 2011 and should be completed in 2014.

Riedberg has had its own secondary school since 2009. The school is housed in a pavilion building in Konrad-Zuse-Strasse until it moves into the new school building. The new school will be located in the the MItte district in the centre of the town right next to the Kätcheslachpark. The architecture competition and the planning phase for the new build are completed and construction started in November 2010. The project should be finished in spring 2013. The new building project for 1,350 students includes a gymnasium, a youth centre and a sports hall with three courts. The planners are Ackermann + Raff architects and town planners together with Pfrommer + Roeder Freie Landschaftsarchitekten who won the architecture competition in July last year.are the planners. The winning design envisages a large-scale, divided structure that assigns the different functional areas to their own, distinctive "school houses". The jury was of the opinion that this facilitated orientation inside the large school and led the students and teachers to quickly identify with "their" school. Meanwhile, Riedberg secondary school has already opened in a pavilion building. All required classrooms and specialist rooms are available here and close cooperation with the university scientific institutes has already been initiated.

Riedberg secondary school focuses on natural sciences and bilingual studies. The school cooperates with Frankfurt University using working groups that allow students to perform experiments in the university labs. There is also liaison with the Technology department of Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. A wide variety of bilingual programs allow children to get used to expressing themselves in English.
